The following is a list of scholarships, etc. that should be of interest to members of the Senior Class.  If there are any questions or if anyone needs assistance, see Mrs. Shaffer or Mrs. Kirby.

Scam Warning:  Financial Aid should never charge a fee to apply, and no sponsor can guarantee a scholarship.

Ask your parents to file their income tax as early as possible in January/February.  This is to help you complete financial aid packets in January. 

 

Please do not ask to have a transcript sent until you have completed and sent your application for admission.

  • Spirit of Auburn - based on academic achievement and standardized test scores-4-year renewable scholarships are awarded at 3 levels: Presidential, Founders and University. 
  • Spirit of Auburn Presidential Scholars - receive resident tuition, plus $1500 technology credit, Auburn Academic Guarantee-automatic admission to Honors College, enrichment experience.
  • Elite scholarships - minimum 34 on ACT and 3.5 GPA
  • Auburn Spirit Foundation Scholarship - minimum 26 ACT and 3.0 GPA- additional consideration to first generation college students. ($1500 per year).
  • Auburn Achievement Scholarship - 3.5 GPQA/24 ACT
  • Leadership Scholarship - 3.5 GPA/24 ACT
  • Auburn University college applications - Early Action decisions are made by October 15. Application for admission deadline is February 1.

  • Chancellor's Award - full tuition. 27 ACT, 3.5 GPA
  • Excellence in Leadership Award - 22 ACT, 3.) GPA.  Interview with Troy faculty & resume of leadership activities.
  • Alumni  assoc. Endowment Scholarship- half tuition. Unconditionally admitted to Troy. Leadership achievements. Application deadline-April 1.
  • Heritage scholarship - $500 non-renewable. Unconditionally admitted to Troy. 3.0 GPA. Must be dependent child of alumni.

Kids Chance Scholarship Fund

Sponsored by Alabama Law foundation Inc. provides scholarships for college and technical school to children who have had a parent killed or permanently and totally disabled in an on-the-job accident.  $450,000 in scholarships are awarded. Deadline for submitting applications is May 1st.  Complete applications on Foundations website at www.alfinc.org .Students are also required to apply for financial aid from college or technical school they will be attending.

Emory Scholars Program - Emory University, Atlanta, GA

Wendy's' High School Heisman Award

Elks National Foundation 2010 Most Valuable Student Scholarship  Nov. 2, 2009Applications evaluated on scholarship, leadership and financial need. The local lodge will award up to (9) $2000 grants and the highest scoring applicants will compete at state and national levels. All completed applications must be at the Auburn-Opelika Elks Lodge before Monday November 2, 2009. See Ms. Shaffer for an application.
SAE Engineering Scholarship   12/1/2009

 For qualified seniors interested in study of engineering and related sciences. Corporate sponsored scholarships range in value from $1000 to $10,000. University sponsored scholrships range in value from $400 to full tuition. Applications postmarked by December 1. Application information online at www.sae.org/students/engschir.htm.

 

Horatio Alger Scholarship   October 2009 Ranges from $1000 to $10,000. Provides financial assistance to students who have financial need, plan to pursue a bachelor's degree, extracurricular involvement. Deadline: October 2009. Download application at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships.
Outstanding Students of America   October 2009

Principal's Leadership Award   Dec. 4, 2009

Alabama A & M University   Nov. 21, 2009

National Commission for Cooperative Education   Feb. 15, 2010

 Will award 170 merit co-op scholarships of $6,000 each for a renewable value of $4.2 million. For additional information and online application , go to http://www.co-op.edu/. Deadline for submitting scholarship application and essay is Februay 15, 2010. Early submission is encouraged.
